Karen Land - newspaper columnist, writer, oral historian, public speaker, and three-time participant in the 1,150-mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race across Alaska - is on the road year-round with her beloved sled dog, Borage, giving dog mushing presentations in schools and libraries across the country.

Since 1999, Karen and Borage have performed over 900 talks. In 2006, Karen's presentation won second place OVERALL in the highly competitive Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) "School Presenters IDOL Competition" in Los Angeles. This was Karen's first performance without her charming sidekick; if Borage would have been there, they would have won Grand Prize!

Join Karen and Borage on an icy adventure in the comfort of your school or library!
